Upload and Share Video from Dropbox

Convenience is a highlight that comes from today's available software and tools. Cloud based file storage has revolutionized workflows across the world through applications such as Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. The need to exchange physical devices to share large files is a thing of the past, since the power of cloud storage allows entire projects to be accessed by an entire team, at any location, and at any time.

Why should I use Dropbox or cloud storage at all?

The list of benefits provided from cloud storage could fill a page, but I’ll just briefly mention some of the biggest positives this technology provides.

Cost Effective

Pricing will fluctuate depending on the specific tool you decide to use, but storing files on cloud storage is cheaper as a whole than setting up a complicated NAS system that holds the same amount of data.

Accessible Collaboration

Team members all around the world can be given logins and be granted access to Dropbox or other cloud storage services, as long as they have internet access. Need to send RAW files from a shoot to someone overseas but don’t want to buy a hard drive and pay for the shipping? Simply upload the files onto Dropbox and they’ll be ready to download on the other end.

Secure

Users will need to be granted access to login to a businesses file sharing platform. This provides an extra layer of security to your files. Password protected hard drives and solid state drives exist these days, but to have a physical drive with that feature, the cost will be evident. Of course the files will only be available to individuals with both the drive and the password. Drives without passwords can easily be lost and stolen, and thus your files can be set loose into the world and be susceptible to prying eyes.

Manage content on the go

Many platforms, such as Viostream, provide integrations that allow direct access to cloud storage platforms like Dropbox in order to keep your workflow flexible and portable. No longer will you need to upload and share files from devices that have them directly stored, instead, just link the platforms together and use your portable device as a simple controller.

How does Dropbox integrate with Viostream?

Thanks to Viostream’s robust video upload options, users can now upload their video content into Viostream directly from Dropbox, as well as other cloud storage platforms such as:

  • OneDrive
  • Google Drive
  • Box
  • Zoom

No longer will you need the video file to be uploaded from your computer or your phone. To set up these upload options, click the “Add Media” button within the platform. A window will pop up providing different uploading options. Select “Dropbox” and then “Connect to Dropbox”. You will then be prompted to log into Dropbox to set up the integration, which is easily done with your SSO by signing into Google or Apple. Once logged in, you can browse through your Dropbox, and select the video files you would like to upload. Simple as that.

Once uploaded into Viostream, you can easily share your video with our share pages, or by embedding the video into one of your existing pages. Our word class player will provide a smooth playback experience, with the ability to provide various tools and reports to better manage your video content.

Experience an enhanced workflow between your files storage and video delivery by signing up to a free Viostream account.
